Difficult on to do without getting carried away by the last 12 minutes of sheer joy but I shall try and be true to the performances over the whole game and not just the winning snippet

Adrian 9 MOTM - Nothing he could do for the two well worked Everton goals but then pull off a penalty save and a string of stop to keep the score at 2-0 which built the platform for victory.

Cresswell 6 - Has left his poor early season form well behind him and was once again solid in defence but going forward, although he got in plenty of good positions his final ball was often lacking

Kouyate 8 - Now I know he played most of his career prior to joining us as a defender and I was a little critical of his form a while back but he's showing week in week out his importance to the cause in different positions. Really good display

Ogbonna 7 - Good performance in a makeshift defence, the player has a real touch of quality about him and no real shock to see him linked to other teams.

Oxford 6 - Deserved his start and really can't be to critical he didn't get tight to Lukaku as the striker scored his 8th in 8 games against us but it was right tactically he was the one to make way.

Antonio 7 - Fast becoming the star of the show, leaves nothing on the pitch as he works so hard and once more scored a vital goal, his first away from home.

Lanzini 7 - Really great to watch on the ball, works hard for the team and for me has it all in his locker

Payet 7 - Ok here's the tricky one, for the best part of 80 minutes he was poor, can't really blame him having to share the field with players from hatchet FC but what a last 10 minutes, one sublime ball and one sublime goal to win it and boy did he enjoy that.

Obiang 6 - A player I really like, maybe not quiet at the same heights of form he showed recently but this was ok from him

Noble 7 - You know like Obiang maybe on the whole his football wasn't as good as of late but what a ball for the first goal and what a captain, first making sure Taylor showed the Everton hatchet job the red and bollocked his players for taking to long celebrating the 2nd goal. A real leader.

Emenike 6 - Had a decent chance first half and worked his socks off again

Song 6 - OK he tripped the Everton player outside the box for the penalty but that aside he played some really nice, tidy football

Carroll 6 - I'm a little torn here, I'm in the camp that believe Carroll is an excellent footballer that can play with the ball at his feet but in that area he was very poor but the space he created and roll in the winner were vital to this victory.

Sakho 7 - Back with a bang, looked right up for it and caused Everton problems the moment he stepped onto the pitch and of course scored the vital goal.

Keep these coming Croe, provokes an interesting perpective.

These late goals we are scoring are giving me the horn, I remember an era when we never seemed to do anything but concede them.

Also, set plays and corners, how much better are we at these in recent times? Everyone lifts in anticipation and once again, I remember when we offered little more than floaty first man shit everytime for season after season - OLAS even had an article once back in the day, when did we last score from a corner.

I've just watched MOTD again and Cresswell's 40 yard pass to Carroll, for the third, goal was sublime.

Dancer,

You're wrong mate. I did agree with your post about crosses, but I don't agree with most other things you've posted which is why I was surprised.

I don't hold grudges, everybody has they're own opinion. You dug me out about my posts re the Scouse - it's you're right to do so & I'm not being patronising here.

This site is funny, sometimes informative, often argumentative, but fun all the same.

We all love the club, we all have opinions, so what.

I've been lucky enough to retire early, so if I can't get down the golf club I'll fuck about on here before going to the pub or if the missus gets boring - which is all too often..

Keep having your digs if you choose, makes no difference to me mate.

Re: Players ratings.....
Agree that you get a much better view of how a player performs when you're actually in the ground rather than watching on TV.

Having said that though watching it on the box I thought Cresswell had a decent game and was a constant threat going forwards.

Croe was obviously seeing it differently there in person.

Yarmouth - So I called you out on your way OTT bashing of all things Scouse the other week and you come out with that bollocks?? You pathetic cunt.

Re: Players ratings.....
With regards to people moaning that the ratings were too low, had we not scored 3 late goals people would have given the players 4/5/6's on the whole, having lost a team that had 10 men for an hour.

As it was we turned on the style for 12 minutes, and that won us the game. A handful of players were stunning during that 12 minute spell, but pretty dire for the other 78.

On the whole I think 6's and 7's is a fair reflection.

Re: Players ratings.....
Surprisingly, I agree with Dancer on this one. Playing a good ball into the box is the key, the forwards then need to move to get on the end of it.

We often see great balls by great players curled into the box leaving the keeper stranded yet nobody gets on the end - that's a good ball played into an attacking space.

Beckham was brilliant at it, Payet looks very, very good it too. When our forwards learn the knack of this type of cross it will pay off hugely.

But anyway - we fucked Everton over, at their place, after being 2 down - that's fucking brilliant. And without trying to rub it in, the numerous times I've been up there with the lads years ago, basically for a weekend out in Liverpool knowing we would roll over on Saturday afternoon, makes this result brilliant.

Even from a sofa.. (Yes, that is rubbing it in, now I'll fuck up..)

What I would say is that saying a ball into the box is only a good one if it finds a team mate is absolutely laughable, and I'm sure KIA knew that at the time but was desperate to stand his ground.

Whuffy is right

Unless your at the game you don't get an overall perspective of player movement , player acknowledge when they know they have fucked up

TV follows the ball ,

Re: Players ratings.....

Then again - I watched on a stream and you really don't get the full sense of a game watching on tele.

-------

Of course agree 100% with that about certain aspects of the game (player movement, off the ball/camera work) but crosses and delivery's is surely one of the areas where the camera isn't deceiving anybody, i mean we all saw many replays and angles of numerous excellent cresswell crosses yesterday -vs- seeing them at the game once in a fleeting moment
